TWEENS / PRE-TEENS (AGES 10 TO 12 YEARS)
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. ~ Psalm 127:3
Ages 10 to 12 are the tween / pre-teen years; typically middle school kids. This is the preadolescence stage where bigger kids start acting like teens, though are still "manageable" and less rebellious than we expect of teenagers. The pre-teen years often mark the beginning of puberty; though puberty can begin as early as 8 years old for a girl and boys start puberty between the ages of 10 and 15.
Preteens are like the middle child of society. They are not the babies nor are they the young adults that we expect them to learn how to become as teens. We need to teach and treat them accordingly. Do not let your pre-teen stray to far from home (your advisement) or God's Word.
