One thing I know, No matter where I go, I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks ~ Little Big Town
When you've had the life that I've had, there is beauty and peacefulness ...
it feels like a rebirth; it feels secluded; it feels closer to God!
I want my children to feel closer to God, respect nature and have a sense of
pride that comes from non-materialism opposed to how things used to be ...
Yes, the heat and bugs can be a lot; the frogs and owls are loud at night ...
Yet, there is always something new to explore and appreciate!
We see an average of 5 to 10 different birds each day. I didn't know that
I would learn to appreciate birds so much; I was scared of them before :)
Flowers grow wild in the sandy ground ... A miracle that unfolds before
our eyes and without expectation; just there for all to enjoy
It is springtime in the boondocks ... I'm loving it!
Boondocks Lyrics by Little Big Town
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
And I can feel
That muddy water running through my veins
And I can hear that lullaby of the midnight train
And it sings to me and it sounds familiar
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
And I can taste that
honeysuckle and it's still so sweet
When it grows wild
On the banks down at old camp creek
Yeah, and it calls to me like a warm wind blowing
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know
No matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
It's where I learned about living
It's where I learned about love
It's where I learned about working hard
and having a little was just enough
It's where I learned about Jesus
And knowing where I stand
You can take it or leave it
This is me, this is who I am
Give me a tin roof
a front porch and a gravel road
and that's home to me
feels like home to me
I feel no shame
I'm proud of where I came from
I was born and raised in the boondocks
One thing I know, no matter where I go
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
You get a line, I get a pole
we'll go fishing in the crawfish hole
5 card poker on Saturday night
church on Sunday morning
You get a line, I get a pole
(You get a line, I get a pole)
We'll go fishing
(We'll go fishing in the craw fish hole)
Down in the boondocks
(5 card poker on Saturday night)
Church on Sunday morning
You get a line, I get a pole
(You get a line, I get a pole)
We'll go fishing
(We'll go fishing in the craw fish hole)
Down in the boondocks
(5 card poker on Saturday night)
(Say a little prayer for me)
Church on Sunday morning
You get a line, I get a pole
(You get a line, I get a pole)
We'll go fishing
(We'll go fishing in the craw fish hole)
Down in the boondocks
(5 card poker on Saturday night)
(Say a little prayer for me)
Church on Sunday morning
In Motherly Love,
Mother Baby Child

Great shots.
Happy WW! I've never been to the boondocks, well, at least not those boondocks lol. It looks like it has it's own special beauty. We've traveled across the country and I've learned that every place has it's own kind of pretty. :)
Thanks for stopping by Eight Days a Week!
Great pictures, I love the spider in the web. I am from the boondocks of Pennsylvania but my sister now lives in Florida and took me to some of the boondocks there.
Thank you :) I appreciate your compliments; I've been trying to take better picture.
I don't think the boondocks are for everyone (people like my husband) but I grew up in the boondocks of South Carolina. I love the peacefulness that you get there. I don't miss the ticks so much though lol.
Thanks for stopping by Theresa's Mixed Nuts.

I think you're right, @Theresa. Some people just mention alligators or do not say anything at all. I love it!!! It's a pleasure to meet you. I am following back!
Thanks for visiting my blog. I've never been to Florida. Looks almost like a different world. Beautiful, really. Though I do not envy you the humidity. :)
